10 reviews for QuickBooks 2014 for Mac [Old Version]

Love this program. A slight learning curve, but go to the intuit website & download their manual. It is VERY comprehensive! Recommended!

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so for this product. As a new small business owner, I consider QuickBooks a must. This software is essential for bookkeeping, invoicing and keeping track of your expenses and taxes. If I were to add anything to it, it will be cloud support and mobile access. Meaning backup my content on the cloud and being able to process invoices etc from my phone when I’m not at the office. I know that Quickbooks online does that, but I wanted a mobil integration with the Stand alone version of quickbooks.

  3. It’s the blues!

Purchased this to use for my business. I had never used QuickBooks before, and only have a limited understanding of accounting (only what I can remember from college accounting classes). I’m a fast learner with most computer programs, and most things in general. It took me about a week to find my way around the program comfortably. I had my accountant set up all the basic accounts and things for me, and just imported what they did, and started from there. So that helped a lot.I have found the program to work great, and I’ve really enjoyed using it. It is intuitive and not too complicated. I read a lot of reviews before buying it, and many were critical or negative, comparing it to previous releases or the Windows version. After getting it I don’t really see what there is to complain about, unless you’re just used to using something else. I have a second business that I manage with Quickbooks as well, and have no issues there either.I am thrilled that there is a Mac version of this program. I used Windows for about 20 years, and roughly 5 years ago switched to Mac’s. I have no idea why Windows computers are so popular except that they are inexpensive. The Windows operating system and all the programs that go with it are cumbersome and there is always some kind of problem. Mac’s just don’t have all that trouble, its a very seamless operating system and their hardware is built to last. I am happy that there is a Mac version of QuickBooks, or I would not be using QuickBooks.

Thank you Quickbooks. I just started a business and this was the right tool for me. I tried the online Quickbooks for a trial, but I didn’t need to spend almost $400 a year. At $130, this is a great price. It’s easy to use and navigate. It keeps everything organized so my accountant does not have to figure out my paperwork. It updates my banking information and it was easy to enter in all my online accounts. It’s a great way to create and send invoices. They have a lot of nice templates for invoices. The chart of accounts were easy to customize. I wish there was a way to delete a chart of account complete, especially if I made a mistake, but you can only hide them when they’re created. Speaking of mistakes, makes sure you know exactly what you’re doing at the setup. It’s very difficult to change something without starting over. I never used the program before so I had some issues at first, but got through them just fine. For a small business, I will always recommend Quickbooks. Not only because it’s easy but because most accounts use it as well. This will make it easier later on if you hire someone full-time or decide to open an online account.

I am giving this QuickBooks 2014 for Mac top rating. I had been reluctant to update until installing the latest Apple OS made it absolutely necessary and research for other programs that were user friendly without an exorbitant price was impossible. The guide tools are also making this program easier to learn/work. I think I may finally become an expert using QuickBooks.

  6. Marvin

Got a new Mac with Mavericks and upgraded from Quickbooks 2011 to Quickbooks 2014. The upgrade was flawless. Even my statement templates arrived in 2014 completely intact. Only had to resort my customer list which took a few seconds and I was ready to go. I am a solo practitioner with minimal needs so I do not have some of the legitimate complaints about features that others have posted. But compared to 2011, I did notice faster performance, more stability, more thoughtful screens and UI elements. Intuit may have a ways to go in the eyes of some users but compared to 2011 they have extensively refined the core code and added helpful touches. Very nice and worthwhile upgrade for me and I can’t always say that about software upgrades.

  7. Bob S

I needed this program for a work Mac computer and downloaded it and it works great, does everything you need. Problem is I need to go back to college and get an accounting degree to understand it all. Not the programs fault, just mine !

  8. QuickBooks Customer Care

This is a fabulous upgrade I’ve waited for, for a long time. Used the PC versions (great too) but malware and viruses repeatedly crushed my PC’s. They’ve set a Neat conversion of data from the PC to Mac version that worked well.

  9. LRH

This product is easy to use and walks you through step-by-step processes to get you the results you need. There are helpful online tutorials as well as chat options. In comparison having used other accounting software, QuickBooks is very easy to navigate. I would absolutely recommend this product to other small businesses.
