I’m only a couple of hours into this at the time of this review. This is by far the most beautifully animated Pokemon game to date – finally a 3D environment with a solid FPS. The gameplay starts off heavily tutorial based but quickly gets to the point where you keep going back out for more runs to get the perfect shots. If you played 64 Snap, this is exactly what you were hoping for. If you didn’t, you may find yourself frustrated with the fact that the levels are ‘on rails’ and that the pace in which you move through an area is fixed. I’m looking forward to the hours to come with this. Full disclosure, I’m 32 and it’s awesome. My kids are 5 and 3 and are loving it, as well.

This is a great game. I pre-ordered it, and it arrived on its release day. It is cute and has pretty graphics. It is a relaxing game with a lot of cute Pokemon. My daughter (age 11) has been playing it for the past hour and loves it. She says it is five stars.

I never had the chance to play the original Pokemon Snap and I’ve got to say this one is extremely fun! The environments are very beautiful and packed with pokemon! There’s also multiple ways to interact with the pokemon and each stage has a lot of replayability. It’s also fun to watch the stages and pokemon change as you progress through the game. Easily recommend for pokemon lovers and people looking for a relaxing game experience!

A great sequel to the original, this really surpassed my expectations–I was truly afraid that the nostalgia that I experienced from my childhood might overhype the experience, but no, it’s really genuinely good. The graphics are wonderfully polished, bright, and beautiful; the interactions between the different Pokémon are super detailed and creatively interact with each other and their diverse environments, and the game features mon from all of the generations and not just one or two. There’s lots of replay value for re-running the various routes as more points accrued unlock new features and interactions. The only thing that would have made it better was if it was open world style and you could search out dozens and hundreds of interactions like this. But overall, THIS is the kind of Pokémon content that I wish that GameFreak and Nintendo would strive to push for with this franchise. It’s clearly possible, if only they cared enough to try.

Having Played the original game on N64 a fair bit, I was looking forward to this game and it did not disappoint. With several more stages, Pokemon, and things to mix it up and encourage you to find unique shots of each Pokemon, this is a really fun game for me. I’ve heard some criticism of the story or that it pauses too much for cutscenes and that happened to some degree with my playthrough but overall I think the story was interesting and fun, if not anything too deep

It’s a really fun nostalgic game. They added tons more Pokémon and way more levels and variations of the same levels. There’s also a night time version of most of the levels. Pokémon don’t evolve like they did in the original but you do see different evolutions of some of the Pokémon at different times or places. Some levels are definitely inspired by the original.

As someone who has completed the main story and found all the pokémon, I highly recommend this game. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Some highlights:- It’s a game for both people who played the N64 version like me and for new players. It has nostalgic references from the original, but you don’t need to know anything about the original to play this new game.- It’s a game for casual players and for people who like challenges. For example, you can progress through the main story and enjoy casually taking photos, but you can also take on some more challenging puzzles/interactions to unlock additional route pathways and get hidden pokémon (including legendaries).- It has a lot of content. Even after completing the main story and seeing the credits, new routes and endgame pokémon become available. Over the course of the game you unlock several islands with day and night versions of routes. And each of these routes has different levels where different things happen based on how you interact with the environment/pokémon and what pathways you choose. Plus there are side quests to complete and 1, 2, 3, and 4-star pictures for each pokémon based on interactions you can trigger (and each of those has different colors of stars showing photo quality that you can improve).- It has a lot of pokémon. They are all well designed with a lot of expressions and activities. It has a very safari and natural habitat feel.Overall, this was a very well done game.

This game is A MUST PLAY!! I”e already put six hours in and have mostly just been playing the first island over and over again because I’m having such a blast finding out all the special interactions. It’s like the original but HYPED UP! So many unique and charming interactions, the star system for classifying types of behaviours in the photos is genius. Seriously, if you liked the original, you will love this! If you’ve never played the original and you’re not sure if you’ll like this – if you’re a fan of looking at creatures in their natural habitat or interacting in a natural way, you’ll get something out of this game! I’ve laughed a few times too because some of the interactions I’ve seen so far are so silly and fun.In my opinion, the incentives of discovering new secret interactions or new pathways to take will keep me coming back until I’ve sifted through every last bit of content this game has to offer! It’s gorgeous and a must have for any Pokemon fan who’s been let down by Gamefreak’s treatment of Pokemon as a franchise and was hungry for some more Pokemon-centric content with an emphasis on Pokemon behaviour and daily life. It’s everything I ever wanted in a Snap sequel, a real dream come true!!

I spent countless hours on the original Pokemon Snap game for the Nintendo 64 as a kid and after playing this for a few hours already, I’m hooked. It has all the nostalgia from the original but with way more incredible photo opportunities and so many new pokemon. It’s far more in depth and detailed as well. Great for adults and kids alike.
